Gosh, where to start? Rock climbing in Kawakawa Bay on Lake Taupo after a two hour hike in? Or maybe the three day sea kayaking trip in Queen Charlotte Sound that Galen and I took over my two birthdays here in New Zealand. I saw three little penguins (now I want one), lots of seals, dolphins, the mischevious and pain-in-the-ass weckas, ate freshly caught fish for dinner, surfed the wake from the ferries, and went to sleep on an island underneath the southern cross.
Maybe I will go into detail about the serendipitous climbing trip to Takaka where we met an extremely generous kiwi who is now letting me use his paddle and kayak until I leave New Zealand, and let Galen and I park on his farm (an abandoned vineyard close to the milk vending machine*) for as long as we wanted. Or should I tell you about the days kayaking/swimming in the beautiful glacial blue rivers of New Zealand, feeling the currents, playing on the eddy fences, swimming more than once :)
Unfortunately I actually only have four minutes left on this internet, so I won't be able to expand on anything right now. Outside the autumn winds are starting to blow, whisperings the beginnings of the end for me. Leaves are changing, nights are longer and the highways a little less littered with campervans. About time for me to leave summer for summer. Or spring more like.
I will try to post again before I leave. Maybe while we are selling the van in Christchurch
